Snow is coming …according to predictions

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

I really don’t know how software devs handle working on the same thing for so long.  I’ve been working on this one pieces of a large project at work, and I’ve been practically going cross eyed.  Today I was given a bit of a break(a different part had more priority, and needed some extra hands) and got moved over to @qrevolution ‘s section of the project.  It was refreshing. Something new.  Working on the same thing for so long, it gets harder to keep perspective.

I’m also all ready for the SNOW that is supposed to happen this weekend.  Even acquired some snow boots for the first time in years. Before that happens though, anyone know any good places in MN close to the Twin Cities for taking fall photos?  Or getting pumpkins?  Planning a field trip this weekend.

Also, I’m watching Ghost Hunters right now, and …MEATLOAF is on it.  O.o Good show Mr. Loaf.

Paperwork and Other Things

Sunday, April 5th, 2009

New apartment paperwork was sent in but the office still hasn’t picked it up (we have a signature required and email notification from USPS on it.)  Getting a bit antsy, as I don’t really want to finalize my moving arrangements before I get that done, but they have to be done well ahead of time.  The place is nice, but hopefully we won’t have to interact too much with the office staff.  Or at least need the office staff being prompt about anything…

Otherwise, had my estimate done for the move. MUCH less than I thought it would be, though it will go up if Roommate #2 sends me info for stuff she wants moved with mine.  Leaving a day earlier than I planned but that’s ok.   Can’t find anyone in the area I know who wants to see a Metal/Rock concert with me anyway.  :(  I hope Slipknot loops their tour back up into the Twin Cities again. (Or if anyone is interested, I will adjust my move dates! May 14th in CR – or 13th in Mankato, MN (Mankato?  odd place but wtv.))

SuperProject of Doom launched, finally.   @qrevolution/hitokori and I are awesome.  Looks great and works!  Now we are on SuperDifferentProjectOfVeryLarge

Not much else going on.  Finished Gears of War with Roommate #2, started The Force Unleashed (can’t start a new FPS without finishing the old one, or I won’t ever finish it.)  Also, after watching the credits, there needs to be more woman in the gaming industry.  I would totally do it, but 80 weeks are not my friend, and I would burn out and it wouldn’t even be awesomely.

Getting really excited for the move!

(Will eventually fix the crappy rounded corners on blog and mismatched orange shades.  It’s hard to do non-’work’ work that is exactly like work…)

Me elsewhere on the web...
